A safe haven...? chappies 3 4~Chapter three – Strike two~
Robin sat up. What was THAT?
There it was again. He tensed his muscles, listening. The noises had stopped now, there was…silence. Complete silence. Maybe Beast Boy's shelves had fallen down again? Fearing the worst, he jumped out of bed, snatching up his bird-a-rangs. He pushed the door open a notch and peered out. There didn't seem to be anyone in his corridor.
"Phew," he muttered. Then he froze. If they weren't in his corridor, where were they? Cyborg's? Raven's? Beast Boy's? Or maybe…Starfire's…? He gulped; slowly making his way to the latter's room. The walls of her corridor were bright pink, ditto with her room. He peeked in; everything in Starfire's room was as it should be – the bed, the shelves, the sleeping pet silkworm Silkie. There was only one thing missing. Starfire.
'She's going to the toilet.' His common sense reasoned with him. 'She's getting a drink. Having a midnight snack. Do not think about the 50% chance that she is battli
Power Cut - finally finishedThe rain poured, drumming on the window sill. The angry storm clouds groaned with thunder. Lighting threatened to fork and hail stoned. Outside, it was almost too black to see. The rain flooded the streets and overflowed the gutters. The howling wind swept hurrying people along the pavement and quickened their rush to get home before the storm worsened…
Beast Boy watched the rain slip lazily down the pane. He was bored. So bored. So, so bored… Starfire stood, watching anxiously. Robin noticed her.
"Star? Everything ok?" Starfire gulped.
"What is that noise? On my planet such drumming means the declaration of war…" Robin smiled and shook his head.
"No, Star, what you can hear is rain. Look," he took her over to the window and she watched the water fall in fascination. Then she frowned at Beast Boy.
"Then why is our friend Beast Boy so glum?"
"Nothing to do." He grunted. "Bored."
"There's plenty to do," Raven smirked, not raising her eyes from the book she was reading.
"Yeah," he scowled
TT - TomorrowIf I knew this would be the last time I saw you fly out the door, I would give you a hug and a kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would the last time I heard your voice lifted up in praise, I would videotape each word so I could play them back, day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say 'I love you', instead of just assuming you KNOW I do.
If I knew this would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have many more, so I'll let this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right.
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all we get, I'd like to say how much I love you, and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike.
And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight…
So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?
