The rain poured, drumming on the window sill. The angry storm clouds groaned with thunder. Lighting threatened to fork and hail stoned. Outside, it was almost too black to see. The rain flooded the streets and overflowed the gutters. The howling wind swept hurrying people along the pavement and quickened their rush to get home before the storm worsened…

Beast Boy watched the rain slip lazily down the pane. He was bored. So bored. So, so bored… Starfire stood, watching anxiously. Robin noticed her.
“Star? Everything ok?” Starfire gulped.
“What is that noise? On my planet such drumming means the declaration of war…” Robin smiled and shook his head.
“No, Star, what you can hear is rain. Look,” he took her over to the window and she watched the water fall in fascination. Then she frowned at Beast Boy.
“Then why is our friend Beast Boy so glum?”
“Nothing to do.” He grunted. “Bored.”
“There’s plenty to do,” Raven smirked, not raising her eyes from the book she was reading.
“Yeah,” he scowled, “If you’re a book worm.”
“Please, what is this ‘book bug’ you speak of?” Starfire asked.
“Book worm,” Robin corrected her, “It’s someone who reads all the-”
“I’m not a book worm! I just don’t spend all day playing on video games!” Raven snapped angrily.
“Why you-” suddenly all the lights went out. Starfire screamed and hid under Robin’s cloak and Beast Boy groaned.
“Great,” he muttered. “Now I can’t even watch the rain…”
“Lighten up. It’s just a power cut.” Raven lifted her eyes from the book
“Oh that’s rich coming from you!”
“Yeah? Well at least I don’t-”
“WILL YOU TWO STOP ARGUING!!!!” Cyborg yelled. There was silence until…
“I’m going to my room.” Beast Boy stated, leaving. Raven glowered and left on the other side of the room. Cyborg glanced at the dial on his arm.
“Looks like we’ve lost all power for the night.” He lit a candle and looked at his two friends. “You go get some sleep. I’ll fix up in the morning.” And with that, they left.

Beast Boy walked down the corridor, grumbling all the way.
“Stupid Raven…why does she hate me so much??” he kicked the wall angrily, “…and then tomorrow morning they’ll expect me to be all nice and apologise – but I’ll show them! No more Mr Yeah-whatever-guy! Nope, tomorrow RAVEN is apologising first, not me! And if she doesn’t say sorry, well neither will I! Lets see what they think THEN.” He was at his door now and he shoved it roughly open.

Raven stomped angrily into her room, slamming the door behind her. The light sparked as she flung herself onto her bed and pounded the pillow.
“Why does he hate me so? Why? WHY?!” with the last shout the light bulb exploded and Raven was left in total darkness. All alone and sobbing into her pillow.

“Everything I say seems to be wrong!” he yelled, surveying his room in anger. “Nothing, NOTHING I EVER do is RIGHT!!” His eyes fell on the picture of the Titans on his wall. For a moment, he forgot about Raven as he looked at it; Robin and Starfire were at the front. Starfire was kissing Robin’s cheek and he was blushing, but still smiling. Cyborg was giving a big thumbs-up at the camera and he stood next to him, waving happily. Then he saw Raven and he growled.
“What did I ever do to make you HATE me so much?? WHY?!?” slowly his anger subsided, “I’m SORRY, ok?!” a tear fell. “Cuz I don’t want you to hate me, Rae.” His lip wobbled. “I don’t hate you. I just want to be friends! That’s all…that’s…that’s...” he clenched his teeth and curled his fists but the tears were still falling, thick and fast.
“THAT’S ALL!”

Raven lay on her bed, face buried in her pillow. A book lay, discarded, beside her. She was crying.
“Why do you hate me, Beast Boy? WHY? I don’t mean to start arguments! Honestly, I don’t! You just wind me up so much and…you don’t know what its like! You don’t know what it’s like being me! You don’t know ANYTHING!” she rolled down onto the floor and sobbed into her hands. Finding nothing else to destroy, her powers crackled around the room like electricity.

Starfire couldn’t sleep. She was disturbed by Raven and Beast Boy’s arguing. She was standing in the lounge watching the rain drip on the window pain. The storm seemed to be easing up. Then again, she had never seen a thunder storm on earth before, and did not know what to look for. She sighed. Raven and Beast Boy had argued before, but never like this. They always made up afterwards. The miserable weather just seemed to make it all worse. The next few days would be full of tension and no one would dare to talk to either of them until they had cooled down. And who knew how long that would take? Every time it seemed longer. A week this time, perhaps? She sighed. The bad weather was unsettling her.
“Star?” a familiar voice cut through the gloom making her heart do somersaults.
“R-Robin? You could not sleep either?” He shook his head.
“Naah. So what’s keeping you up?”
“It is the arguing of Beast Boy and Raven. I am not seeing why they are…so ‘ratty’ as you put it.” She looked at him, “Why are you unable to sleep?”
“Just restless I guess. I mean I can’t stop thinking about…stuff. Leaders’ instinct, you know?”
“Mhmm.” They gazed out at the rain for a bit. It happened so quickly that they barely had time to think; a flash of lightning startled Starfire, and she jumped backwards onto what happened to be Robin’s foot. Robin yelped in surprise and stepped backwards, hit the back of his knees on the sofa and fell onto it, Starfire tumbling on top of him. There was silence, as they stared at each other, mouths agape and eyes huge. They stayed like that for a few minutes. Suddenly, a part of Robin that was not surprised, but highly amused by the awkward situation, spoke up:
‘Man, if you’re ever gonna tell her, you might as well do it now.’
It was then that he did the bravest thing he had ever done in his life.
Robin had battled countless evil villains and their cronies, travelled all over the galaxy searching for his best friend, been forced to join the other side by blackmail and been taunted and almost killed by something none of his friends could see, but he had never felt more scared than he did as he waited for Starfire to react to what he had just done. But when she did, he was scared no longer. It wasn’t long before they were making out, and they only stopped when they rolled off the sofa. Laughing, Robin helped his new girlfriend up.
“Thank you Robin,” she giggled, “I think I will be able to sleep now,”
“Me too,” he said, grinning. He felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest.
“Goodnight,” they kissed again, before going their separate ways to their rooms.

Raven sat up and yawned. She must have cried herself to sleep, as she was still crouched over on the floor. She licked her lips and wrinkled her nose – she had cried herself dry and now she was terribly thirsty. Groaning, she heaved herself up and over to the door. Using her powers, she opened it, and flew lazily down the corridor. There was the kitchen. She waved her hand at the door and it flew across the room. She glared at the empty doorframe, as if it were its fault, before floating over to the cupboard.

Beast Boy groaned, stirring awake. Slowly, he pushed himself up and rubbed his head.
“Ugh,” he groaned again, “Feels like something furry crawled into my mouth and died…” he stuck out his tongue and waggled it. “Blueh. Dehinately dwy. Needd wather.” He pulled his tongue back in and shoved the door open, heading for the kitchen. When he got there, to his surprise, he found the kitchen door balancing on the top of the sofa. He shrugged and made his way to the tap, and poured himself some water. He drained the glass in one gulp.
“Fancy meeting you here.” Beast Boy spat out the water he had just drunk in surprise. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Hello,” he growled into the darkness, “What are you doing here, Raven?” the girl stepped out of the shadows and into the pool of moonlight shining through the window next to Beast Boy.
“It’s a free world, isn’t it? This isn’t just your tower.” She set a glass down the side. “I was getting a glass of milk.”
“Oh,” Beast Boy grunted. He picked up his cup and began to fill it again. “Too bad. I was just going.”
“No, you were going to get another drink,” Raven muttered. Beast Boy looked at her weirdly.
“How…do you know? Can you read minds or something?” he asked suspiciously.
“No.” she pointed to his hand, which was still holding the overflowing glass under the tap.
“Oh.” He said again. He hastily turned off the tap and walked over to the sofa. He leant against the wall and slowly drank the water. Raven perched on the counter, watching him, and taking in the whole situation. Beast Boy narrowed his eyes.
“What? What are you looking at?” Raven shook her head.
“Nothing.” She began to walk over to him. The boy watched her, eyes trailing down her figure. When they reached the floor, he noticed something Raven had not.
“Raven!” he cried, “Look out!”
“What?!” but Raven noticed the banana skin too late. She squealed, flying forwards, her hands landing on Beast Boy’s shoulders and pinning him to the wall. The glass flew from his hand and the combined weight of both him and Raven pushed him to the floor.
The two teens stared at each other. They were in the most awkward position invented – Beast Boy was sat on the floor, his back and head against the wall. His legs were splayed apart and Raven was kneeling in between them. All the pressure was on her hands - one on his shoulder and the other on his chest – and his hands supported her elbows, stopping her from falling forwards. There was a long, embarrassed silence. Raven gulped and broke it.
“How are we going to move?” she asked, teeth gritted. Beast Boy frowned.
“What if I…” he began to move his hands.
“Beast Boy!” Raven squeaked “Don-” but her words were lost in the back of Beast Boy’s mouth – he had moved his hands and she had fallen forwards, her face smashing into his and their lips jamming together.

Cyborg whistled as he walked down the corridor. He had worked out what had gone wrong, and now all he needed to do was turn on the power by the power switch in the kitchen. He frowned as he saw the door, instead of in the doorframe, balancing on the back of the sofa. It fell, abruptly, with a thud. The lamp and playstation were floating and a random orange was being blown apart in mid air. Cyborg looked even more confused. What was going on around here?! He ran over to the power switch and threw it, filling the whole room with light momentarily, before the light bulb was also seized by the black energy and promptly blew up. The few seconds were enough, however, for Cyborg to see two other residents of the tower…
“BB? Raven? What on earth…?!?!”
“MLFF!” Raven….well, ‘mlff’-ed desperately.
“It’s not what it looks like!!” Beast Boy cried. Actually, it sounded more like ‘Mfff lphff fwwwrr!!’, but that was what he had meant to say.
Cyborg blinked. He blinked again. Then he fell over laughing.
“Haha! – Oh my – ha! You guys...guys are...-hahahaha!!!”
Raven narrowed her eyes, mouth still jammed into Beast Boy’s, and a lamp hovered just above Cyborg’s head. A few seconds later it dropped, knocking Cyborg out. Beast Boy rolled his eyes.
‘Great going.’ He thought, raising an eyebrow. ‘Now we’ve got to wait for Robin or Star to get us up.’  She sweat-dropped.
‘Sorry.’ She thought, apologetically.
‘Its all-’ he stopped. ‘How come I can hear you think? Are you telepathic like Aqualad?’ Raven blinked.
‘I don’t know. I must be.’
‘Oh.’ Beast Boy suddenly groaned. He had only done it quietly, but Raven felt the sound bouncing round her mouth.
‘What?’ she asked.
‘There’s gonna be pictures of us all over the internet tomorrow! Everyone will think we’re - you know – together!’ he said, wincing. Her face flushed.
‘What’s so bad about tha-aaah!’ Raven’s eyes grew wide. Beast Boy felt her lips pinch together against his.
‘You didn’t just hear that. Please tell me you didn’t just hear that!!’ he grinned.
‘I just heard that. And it sounded like-’
‘Beast Boy! No!’
‘- you want-’
‘Beast Boy!!’
‘- us to be-’
‘NO!’
‘- together.’ He finished triumphantly. ‘It’s true, isn’t it? You’ve got a crush on me!’ her whole face turned a pretty shade of fuchsia pink. He smirked.
‘It’s the ears, right? No one can resist the ears! Even Starfire has had a crush on me at some point because of ‘em!’ Raven rolled her eyes.
‘Yeah, right.’
‘Seriously! I would tell you to ask her, but Robin would probably attack you.’ now it was Raven’s turn to smirk.
‘Hey, how come you’re so worried about my safety all of a sudden? Wait – you like ME too, don’t you?’ his cheeks blushed red. She blushed too.
‘Were you ever planning to tell me?’ he shook his head, well, you can’t really shake your head when your mouth is attached to someone else’s, but he did his best.
‘Dude! No way!’
‘Why?’ he lowered his eyes.
‘I was scared you were going to reject me or get angry and blow me up or something. Why didn’t you tell me?’
‘Rejection. I just wouldn’t be able to face it after Malichior.’ Beast Boy nodded understandingly. Terra had also been one of the reasons he had been afraid of telling Raven.
‘So…now we know, what are we going to do?’ he asked. A smile flittered over Raven’s face. She tipped her head sideways a bit and inserted her tongue. Beast Boy got the hint.

“Ughh…my head…what happened?”
“I have no idea…me ‘n’ Star came in for breakfast and found you here on the floor.” Cyborg peered up at the two concerned faces.
“Try to remember, friend Cyborg, what happened last night?” Starfire asked, helping him up.
“Uhh…” suddenly a grin passed over Cyborg’s face. “Oh, I remember alright…Robin; can you get the film from the security camera? I’ve got to post something on the internet…”
